The Aerospace Science and Earth Informatics + X Double Major Programme at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was featured on RTHK’s Vibrant Hong Kong (Episode 137), with Programme Director Prof. Yang Hongfeng and student Joling Cheung sharing insights into the programme.
During the interview, Prof. Yang addressed a range of topics, including the programme’s interdisciplinary design, its real-world applications in Hong Kong, the University’s role in nurturing aerospace talent, and the development of the CUHK-1 AI satellite and aerospace science research. The discussion also covered students’ competitive advantages and career prospects in emerging technology fields.
From a student perspective, Joling Cheung shared his motivations for joining the programme, reflected on his learning experience, and discussed how the programme broadens exposure and opportunities, including connections with the Mainland.

Additionally, the programme featured the “ASEI Lecture Series: Progress of Chang’e-7 Lunar Seismograph” held on 26 May 2026, organized by the ASEIDM programme and delivered by Prof. Zhang Jinhai from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Two ASEI students, Thinky Wang and Bluebird Wong, who attended the lecture, shared that the programme is highly appealing—it brings the childhood dream of becoming astronauts closer and offers strong potential for entering the aerospace industry.
